First, my heartfelt condolences to Marc’s family and friends. I am sorry for your loss.
I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Marc at what was soon to be “our company,” TVG. We took the helm in very stormy waters and we took it in an unusual way as co/captains with a third person, Frank Smith. We were unlikely fellow travelers. I gave Marc enormous credit for stepping well outside his comfort zone and going all in to save the company.
The journey from likely doom to great success was paved with Marc’s witticisms and truisms; many of which I still use today (with proper attribution). Thank you Marc for the part of your life’s journey that we shared.

I had the pleasure of working with Marc at TVG. His insights and business acumen were remarkable. To this day whenever I use the phrase “It’s like herding cats”, I think of Marc as he was the one who introduced me to it. My condolences to all you.

Like Gary Silverman, I worked at TVG when Marc was hired. Although he was never a marketing researcher himself (causing me some initial doubts about how he could help our company), Marc immediately brought added value to our firm. He facilitated the development of our highly regarded and successful seminars that we offered to pharmaceutical industry marketing and marketing research professionals.
Perhaps his greatest contribution was that he brought a calm, seasoned hand to our group of high-charging, successful marketing researchers. In his words, we developed “systematic and repeatable processes” that enabled our consultants provide even more value to our clients.
One funny story: Marc and I were to attend an industry meeting in his beloved Florida. He asked me if I’d like to join him in a fishing trip the day before the conference. Who wouldn’t want to go fishing with their boss?? I had visions of us going out to the Gulf of Mexico for tarpon… Perhaps a sailfish… But that wasn’t to be the case. Instead, we were in the quest of “rainbow parrot fish.” I soon learned that we’d be fishing in the canals of various housing developments (and far from the open seas). I have often smiled to myself every time I think of that day.
Thank you Marc for the life lessons and the good times in a challenging industry .

Marc was a great mentor and a great friend. Marc came to our marketing research and consulting company, TVG, from a successful career in-house at pharmaceutical companies. Marc brought vast experience and wisdom, which he shared generously. He was admired for his leadership, careful planning, logical analysis, positive outlook. Many of us have stories of his amazing insight into client problems and creative solutions to tough challenges. Marc was collaborative in the best sense and was admired by clients as well as by those of us who worked with and for him. Thanks, Marc, for all you taught us. -Gary Silverman
