Obituary of Edsel Lacy Rawlings, Jr.

Edsel Lacy Rawlings, Jr. (“Eddie”), of Sarasota, FL, sadly passed on, on January 9, 2023, of natural causes.  Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Lathram Rawlings, and is survived by his father, Edsel Lacy Rawlings, Sr.

Eddie was born June 12, 1968.  He grew up in Lexington, KY and attended Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky.  Eddie loved his childhood family vacations to the beach, which inspired him to make Florida his home as an adult.   Eddie was also a lifelong UK fan.

Eddie is also survived by his daughter, Aubrey Rawlings, and his sisters, Mary Rawlings Browning and Molly Rawlings Baughman (Graham).

A service honoring Eddie with a gathering to follow, will take place on February 3^rd at 1pm, at First United Methodist Church, 200 West High Street, Lexington, KY 40507.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, or to The Family Care Center (in honor of his late mother Nancy), 1135 Harry Sykes Way, Lexington, KY 40504.
