Glenn Perra Sr.

Obituary of Glenn Perra Sr.

GLENN PERRA SR., 79, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, in Venice, Florida. Glenn lived most of his life in Connecticut before moving to Venice sixteen years ago. He was a 1962 graduate of East Hartford High School. He was a devoted family man, a veteran of the Air National Guard and spent over ten years as a volunteer fireman in Rockville, Connecticut. In two words, the most humble and gracious of men.

He spent most of his work life at Aetna Life and Casualty where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. Glenn enjoyed playing golf, capturing pictures of his family and spending time with loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Helen; his sister Maureen, his sister in law, Enid and a very special niece, Jennifer.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, John and Corrine Perra, Omer and Carolyn Perra and Linda and Luis Ferreira; and a wonderful sister in law, Frankie Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Glenn will be forever missed by his wife of fifty six years, Elizabeth Perra. He was a rock to his four children and their spouses, Glenn Jr. and Heather Perra, Aimee and Jonathan Heden, Alicia and Charles Zappala, and Heather and Tom Burke. He was the best papa to nine grandchildren, Jillian, Annalise, Jack, Ashley, Jordann, Victoria, Michael, Zach and Kyle and his wife, Holly. He also was blessed with two great grandchildren, Clark and Josie.

He loved his family with all his heart and will be remembered for all the kindness he shared with everyone around him. His family was blessed to have him for so many years and they were honored to have the opportunity to walk him home to Heaven…we love you bunches!

A Celebration of Life will occur in early 2024. If so desired, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice in Venice.

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.
