Obituary of Dr. Ira E. Ross, M.D.

 Dr. Ira E. Ross, MD, 69, of Sarasota, born in Newark, New Jersey died peacefully on November 27, 2023. He was the son of Sidney and Lillian Ross, both of whom were Holocaust survivors.

As a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician, he practiced medicine in Western Massachusetts and in Venice, Florida, until his retirement. He enjoyed getting to know each of his many patients. He was incredibly devoted to his family, avid reader of philosophy and history, listener of rock ‘n roll, traveler of world, including Thailand and Norway where family resides, and most of all a good and fair person who never judged others. He was especially passionate about the Florida Gators and Alexander Hamilton, well before the hit Broadway show. His wife and children loved him very much.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Annette Z.P. Ross, his son, Daniel A. Ross, and his daughter-in-law, both of New York, his daughter, Madeline Ross Mojica, his son-in-law, Federico Mojica, and grandson, Levon Mojica, all of Sarasota, Florida. Also surviving him is his brother, Philip Ross, and sister-in-law, Deborah Ross, nephew, Richard Ross, and niece, Meredith Ross, and family, all of New Jersey. His brother-in-law, Robert B. Papazian, and his wife, Mayda, of Sarasota, Florida, as well as nephews, Jørgen Longem and Andreas Longem and their families in Norway, survived by him. He left many other dear cousins and friends as well.
