Obituary of David Carl Nuttleman

David C. Nuttleman, a loving husband, father and grandfather passed into eternal happiness on January 11th, 2024 in Venice, FL. He was born December 9th, 1941, in Seward, NE to parents, Rudolph F. Nuttleman and Melzena A. Dissmeyer Nuttleman. David grew up helping his parents and siblings farm near Seward, NE. He lost his father when he was only 9 years old. David graduated from Seward High School where he enjoyed playing basketball. After graduation, he attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a business degree and went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska Law School in 1969. Sadly, he lost his mother while he was still in college.

David met and married Diane E. (Penny) Olson and upon his graduation in May 1969, moved to Gering, NE where he practiced law for twenty years at Holtorf Kovarik P.C. After moving to Venice, FL in 1989, David practiced law for almost twenty years at Bruce L. Scheiner & Assoc.

David and Penny were blessed with three children, including two daughters, Catherine Rein (Travis) of Louisville, CO and Lisa Gazzam (George) of Euless, TX and grandchildren, Mason and Kyra Rein and Tyler and Elizabeth Gazzam. He is predeceased by his wife, Penny, his son, Daniel, brother, William, and his parents, Rudolph and Melzena Nuttleman. He is survived by his brother, Rudolph Nuttleman (Sandy) of Seward, NE and sister, Patricia Dornhoff (Gary) of Minden, NE, his daughters, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Following retirement, David and Penny enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors in Nebraska and Florida. Burial of his ashes has taken place at a private ceremony at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff, NE.
