Obituary of Judith Ann Davis

Judith Ann Davis, 75, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Venice, FL after a long and courageous battle with Dementia. She was born on April 8, 1948, in Johnson City, NY to Howard and Helene (Curtis) Van Norton. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1966 and Jefferson Community College in 1968 with her Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science. Judy married her husband Richard John Daivs in 1969 surrounded by friends and family in Gouverneur, New York. Judy was a lover of people and throughout her career, she enjoyed a wide array of occupations in New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, Ohio, Kentucky, and South Carolina, all of which involved helping others. She retired in December 2009 and relocated to North Port, FL in 2010. 

Judy also enjoyed cooking, the beach, traveling, cruises, auto racing, the Tampa Bay Rays, interior decorating, celebrating (and decorating for) Christmas and was the queen of organizing. 

She will be remembered as the most loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived every day to the fullest. Judy never met an enemy and those who were blessed to meet Judy would agree she was the sweetest lady that would do whatever she could to help. Her most beloved passion in retirement was her grandson, Jameson, and he will forever remember and feel her love.

Judy is predeceased by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Richard John Daivs, son, Kevin Michael Davis (Georgia), daughter Amy (Jill) Lynne Gerstmeyer (Ohio), grandson Jameson Davis Gerstmeyer (Ohio), Kay (Greg) Van Norton Poche (Australia), and  brother Thomas (Sheila) Van Norton (New York), and many friends and family.
